Vaughan, ON – Mircom, a global provider of advanced fire life safety systems and communication products is pleased to announce that it has developed a nation wide Corporate Social Responsibility program.

“As part of our CSR program, we have made a major commitment to reducing the impact of our activities on the environment.” said Michael Della Fortuna, Director of Quality, Mircom Group. “We are promoting good environmental management practices across all of our products and business processes.”

Reducing our Environmental Footprint: Mircom is dedicated to applying sound environmental practices to all aspects of its operations.  The company strives to minimize both consumption of resources, including energy, paper and water, and the generation of waste and emissions. Working with partners; customers, suppliers and employees to create opportunities where these reductions can be leveraged and replicated throughout its network. 

Energy Consumption: Mircom has implemented additional lighting control features to minimize electrical consumption throughout its facility.  This supplements the energy savings from the natural light available through various skylights in both the manufacturing and office areas.

Paper Consumption: Mircom has reviewed the quantity of paper utilised in the manuals shipped with each product and has begun to substitute paper manuals with electronic versions, shipped with each unit.  This allows customers to view the information electronically, printing only the pages they require.  This reduction in paper consumption provides multiple contributions to our environmental policy as there is an associated reduction in energy consumption for copying services and a reduction in the chemicals used in the reproduction process.

Metal Work & Printed Circuit Boards: Mircom recycles 100% of all metal work by-products and all printed circuit board processing materials.

Recycling and E-Waste: Mircom will accept, returned products for recycling and disposal.  The recycling / e-waste program is part of our Return Material Authorization process.

Product Offering: Mircom implements innovative, practical and cost-effective techniques in the design and manufacturing of its product offerings.
