Vaughan , ON - Mircom, a global provider of advanced fire life safety systems and communication products announced a change to its warranty time period. The limited warranty has been extended from a 24 to a 36 month duration on all fire alarm and telephone access products. This applies to the original purchaser of Mircom, Secutron and Summit branded products.

Unlike the vast majority of manufacturers that offer the warranty from the date of manufacture (via date code) the Mircom warranty is associated with the panel serial number and is activated at the time of shipping from Mircom's warehouse. This provides customers with the only true 36 month warranty on the market.

All products manufactured after May 1, 2010 carry the new extended warranty label which will be located on the inner door panel emphasizing the serial number and new warranty offering.
